The Labyrinth
As he entered the labyrinth, he couldn’t even see his hand in front of his face. As he sneaked along the rough , stone corridors he heard ancient bones crunch on the floor. As he looked around , he saw slimy stone walls . When he felt cobwebs brushing his face, he got a whiff of a putrid smell. When he approached another corner, he saw a enormous, narrow pathway. He smelt the colossal blood oozing out of the cracks in the floor. While he was searching for the minotaur, he got terrifies. He touched the mossy walls. Under his feet, he felt knobbly, ancient bones scattered on the floor. While walking silently in the terrifying labyrinth , he got spooked by tiny creepy crawlies . Because he was determined , he didn’t stop because he was so courageous . Although he was lost, he was brave and kept going . Because he could hear the minotaur’s growl, he knew he was getting closer. Although he was feeling afraid, Theseus kept on going further into the complex maze . Although he was tired , he kept taking slow cautious steps into the labyrinth.

ReplyDeleteThis is amazing writing, well done !
ReplyDeleteDid you know the Labyrinth is a real place? You can see it on Crete, at Knossos. It used to be a beautiful palace during the Bronze Age, with many rooms decorated with frescoes of people and animals - dolphins, bulls, and monkeys; the story in the myth of the Minotaur is probably about how its builders would take young people from the mainland of Greece, to take part in dangerous bull-leaping shows. A volcano damaged their country and fleet, and they were conquered by people from the mainland. At the time of the conquest, the Labyrinth might have looked just like this description, abandoned and hard to navigate, with bones and burn marks, a scary place
Lovely description I enjoyed reading it.
